Perfect Puppy

The best way to start a weekend is a trip to The Sewing Room to start a project. A friend needs a baby gift for her daughter’s tennis coach.  Since the baby is a boy, Wendy Schone’s Sunbather Sunsuit would be a great gift.

I debated between using batiste or pique.  Since the pique reminds me of summer, I chose it for the sunsuit.    It is difficult to see through it to trace the design.  An idea is to trace the design onto some interfacing, then place the interfacing on top of the fabric where the design is supposed to be.  Using a black friction pen, trace over the pattern again pressing a little firmer.  The ink will bleed through the interfacing and onto the fabric.

It is an extra step but it worked for me and I am now ready to begin.  Let’s hope it will be a perfect puppy!
