It takes me a few days to take on a new project, especially if it is a new technique or skill that I have not done in the past.  I took two classes on shadow work and embroidery from Wendy Schoen at The Sewing Room recently and wanted to try to make the dress “Sweet Serenity” by Petite Poche.  While I have done shadow work in the past, making it the focus of an entire outfit was daunting to me.  The pattern stayed on my desk for several weeks before I got the courage to start.  I have now finished all of my butterflies (I really don’t like granitos), and one of the sleeping cats.  It has not been as difficult as I had feared and I have enjoyed creating something different.
